HOW IT HAPPENED
Freshman infielder
Max DeFrancesco had himself a day at the plate, going 3-for-5 with an RBI in the four-spot, driving in the first run of the game with his RBI single to left off of sophomore right-hander Devin Malvasio. Despite Malvasio only lasting a third of an inning, he was charged with three of the four runs as a one-out error allowed the inning to continue, in which, after DeFrancesco's hit, graduate outfielder
Andrew Hartman would drive in two with his RBI double, followed by junior infielder
Jesse Alfalla's RBI single to cap off the first.
Freshman left-hander Chris Laieta would get the ball in the second inning for the Golden Falcons, giving up a big three-run home run to senior catcher
Manny Contreras, which was the sixth of his season and second in the last four games overall. Contreras finished the game 2-for-2 with three RBIs, two walks, and two runs scored in the win, while junior right-hander
Sebastian Velasquez moved to 2-0 this season against Felician after allowing four runs (three earned) in five innings of work on eight hits with four strikeouts, three walks, a hit batter, and a wild pitch.
Graduate shortstop
Evan Cornwell would add some breathing room to the Post lead in the eighth with his two-run double, making it a 10-5 game after a stretch of five unanswered runs by the Golden Falcons between the second and sixth innings. Sophomore right-hander
Logan Pulitano, who relieved Velasquez in the sixth, was charged with three earned runs in his two innings of work before freshman right-hander
Jacob Schrage came into the game to pick up his first collegiate save.
Sophomore infielder Braden Walsh made it a three-run game once more in the eighth with his two-run single, before Schrage retired four of the next five batters he faced to secure the win for the Eagles, 10-7, on the road.
