HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1: Post University 13, Chestnut Hill College 3 (7 Innings)
Across the entire game, only three innings would see scoring, with the third, fifth, and sixth innings all seeing runs cross for both teams in those frames only. It was Chestnut Hill getting on the board first with an RBI single from junior outfielder Wyatt Spinks, which was met with a three-run barrage by Post in the bottom half of that third inning.
Sophomore infielder
Gill Dolan would tie the game up with his RBI groundout, followed by an RBI single from Cohen and an RBI double by graduate outfielder
Andrew Hartman to make it a 3-1 ball game. After junior infielder and the starting pitcher for the Griffins, Michael Pascoe, made it a one-run game in the fifth with his RBI single, he would allow four runs to the Eagles in the bottom of the frame.
Back-to-back run-scoring walks followed by graduate shortstop
Evan Cornwell's sacrifice fly led to an RBI double by graduate infielder
Hunter Keller as the Post lead stretched to five runs, 7-2. Five more runs came across the plate in the sixth for the Eagles, who opened up a 10-run lead, forcing the mercy rule with a 13-3 victory over Chestnut Hill in game one.
Freshman right-hander
Justin Hascup dominated on the mound for his second win of the season, allowing three runs on nine hits with three strikeouts and a walk to move to 2-3. Pascoe fell to 0-2 on the year after allowing seven runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and four walks.
Game 2: Post University 3, Chestnut Hill College 6 (7 Innings)
A five-run second inning would be the difference maker in the second game, allowing Chestnut Hill to snap a five-game losing streak against the Eagles dating back to the 2024 season, as the Griffins came away with a 6-3 victory in the seven-inning affair. For the second consecutive game, Cohen went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored, driving in a third-inning run for Post as part of a three-run frame for the home team.
Pascoe, who had started game one, went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored for Chestnut Hill, hitting a big three-run home run in the second off of senior right-hander
Harby Valera, while making a few impressive plays at the hot corner to keep the Post offense at bay. As for Valera, he lasted only two innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits with one walk, one strikeout, and a wild pitch. In relief of him, junior right-hander
Zion Fraser threw five scoreless innings in which he allowed one hit and walked two batters.
Senior right-hander Rich Bonino shut the door on the victory for the Griffins, pitching the final four innings to get his second win of the season, allowing no runs on four hits with two strikeouts and a walk. Senior right-hander Mitch Adkins was charged with all three runs, including one via balk, while allowing five hits, striking out two, and hitting another batter.
