HOW IT HAPPENED
Edmands would allow three goals in net for the Eagles before being lifted for freshman goalie
John Simon, as Post found themselves down 3-0 after just over 31 total minutes of action as the second half of the second period came about. The trio of goals for the Trailblazers came from junior forwards Sean Schifferl, Walter Brown, and Cade Herrera, with Herrera assisting on the first goal of the game, which was scored by Schifferl.
Herrera was the only MCLA player to finish with a multi-point game, scoring once and assisting on the opening goal, which was the start of four consecutive goals for the Trailblazers across the first 37:35 of the game. With Simon in net, he would allow just one goal in his relief stint, making eight saves in the process. The lone goal allowed by the freshman came off the stick of senior defenseman Connor Nagy at the end of the second, increasing the Trailblazer lead to four goals.
Freshman goalie Rocco Stolz got the win in net for MCLA, making 32 saves, including shutting down two Post power plays, while allowing the second-period goal to Peca as well as the last-second goal in the third to Howell in the 4-2 win for the Trailblazers on Thursday evening.Â
