MANCHESTER, N.H. – Junior forward
Parker Norling scored his fourth goal of the season and his third in the last four games for Post University Men's Ice Hockey, but junior goalie Cam Carroll's 29-save game helped Saint Anselm College stave off the Eagles for a second straight day, 3-1, on the road. Carroll is now 7-1-1 against Post in his career as the Eagles have lost five consecutive games to the Hawks dating back to last year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first period would essentially be déjà vu for the Eagles as freshman goalie
John Simon and Carroll were perfect in the first 20 minutes, making 14 saves each to keep their opposition off the scoreboard. The Hawks had two power play chances during the opening frame, leading to three blocked shots by the Eagles, as well as three saves from Simon.
Last night's hero, sophomore forward Brendan Manning, would help assist on the first goal of the afternoon for Saint Anselm, feeding senior defenseman Michael Martignetti for the bar-down shot with 13 minutes to go in the second to open the scoring for the Hawks. With the period winding down, senior forward Cam Collins, who scored the first goal in last night's game, gave Saint Anselm some breathing room with his fifth goal of the season, squeezing the shot through Simon's pads as the period wound down.
Trailing 2-0 into the third, Norling got the Eagles on the board with a bar-down shot of his own from senior forward
Hugh McGuigan, only 5:36 into the final frame, cutting their deficit in half. The goal for Norling was his third in the last four games for Post after being held scoreless in 10 consecutive games.
Following that goal, there would be about a 20-minute delay in the action due to an issue with a board in the Sullivan Ice Arena with 14:24 left in regulation. After that break in the action, junior forward Patrick DeMarinis would end up in the penalty box for the Hawks with 10:21 remaining, but Carroll would only face one shot, making the save to keep the one-goal lead for Saint Anselm. Carroll would get some help from the Hawks' offense with just over 2 1/2 minutes to go in regulation as senior Luke Linart found the back of the net with the help of Collins, giving the Hawks a two-goal cushion on their way to the weekend sweep with a 3-1 victory.
