WATERBURY, Conn. -- A year after having a record-breaking six teams earn Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Team GPA Awards, Post University Athletics did one better for the 2024-25 academic year, earning a new school record seven Team GPA Awards as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.
The seven teams that took home the top GPA among the conference teams in their respective sport included Women's Tennis, Women's Soccer, Women's Volleyball, Men's Basketball, Men's Lacrosse, Women's Lacrosse, and Baseball. In general, all by one Post program that has membership in the CACC earned a GPA higher than a 3.0 GPA during the 2024-25 school year.Â
For Women's Tennis, not only is this the third consecutive year they have won the Team GPA Award, but the highest GPA they have had as a team when doing so, earning a 3.93 throughout the year, ranking the highest among all Post athletic programs. The only other repeat winner at Post was the Men's Basketball team with a 3.27 GPA, up from a 3.12 GPA last season, which is also the highest team average they have gotten when earning the award.
Three programs earned their first-ever Team GPA Awards in Women's Volleyball and Women's Lacrosse with a 3.83 GPA and a 3.82 GPA on the women's side, while Baseball on the men's side achieved its award with a 3.58 GPA. The final of four women's teams to be recognized, Women's Soccer had a 3.79 GPA for its second Team GPA Award in the last three seasons, while Men's Lacrosse also went two for its last three with a 3.72 GPA earning them their second-ever CACC Team GPA Award as, like Women's Soccer, they too won their first in 2022.
