Women's Lacrosse Unable to Take Flight Against Golden Falcons

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Junior defender Paige Pipher scored the only goal of the game for Post University Women's Lacrosse as the Eagles dropped their fifth consecutive game of the season against Felician University on the road, 13-1, on Wednesday afternoon. This was the first time in program history that Post was defeated by the Golden Falcons, winning their first eight matchups in the all-time series that started in 2014.

THE BASICS

Post University 1, Felician University 13

Post University (0-5, 0-5 CACC)

Felician University (4-7, 1-5 CACC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Graduate goalie Lauren Bain had a career-high 17 saves in net for the Eagles, falling to 0-5 on the year after allowing 13 goals in her 60 minutes of action. Countering her on the other end was freshman goalie Jessica Naoum, who earned her third win for the Golden Falcons after allowing just one goal and making five saves. Pipher accounted for the only Post goal in the third quarter, her fourth of the season, which leads the team.

Sophomore midfielder Aly Amadruto commanded the offense for Felician, scoring four times along with junior midfielder Mary Gazaleh's three-goal performance as the duo made up over half the goals on the day. Dishing out assists was freshman midfielder Eva Moreland with five en route to her six-point outing as she added another point via her second-quarter goal on the man-up advantage.

Felician scored the first 13 goals of the game until Pipher broke up Naoum's bid for a shutout with her goal in the third with 2:45 remaining. Post was outshot 32-10 overall and 26-2 in shots on goal while getting dominated on the draw controls, 13-3. Sophomore attacker Macy Peterson led the Eagles with four ground balls and two caused turnovers, while junior midfielder Kayla Fox tallied a game-high eight ground balls and three caused turnovers for Felician.
