HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior defender
Paige Pipher picked up the first goal of the afternoon, scoring for the second straight game, which was the first time she has done so in her career as an Eagle, giving Post an early 1-0 lead on the Cougars. But a 6-0 run after that goal at the 9:02 mark would be all Caldwell needed en route to their first win of the season. Hebb's goal just before the end of the second quarter, making it a four-goal game in favor of the Cougars heading into halftime, 6-2.
Sophomore midfielder Tiana Cipot had two first-half goals for the visitors while freshman midfielder Gloria Carpenter registered three points via her three assists for the Cougars. Both of the Post scores came unassisted as the Eagles had just 10 total shots overall and six on goal at the break, compared to 15 shots overall and 14 shots on goal for Caldwell.
A turnover-heavy second half saw Post cough up the ball 20 times en route to a total of 29 turnovers in the game while only manufacturing two shots on goal, one of which was Patfield's score in the third quarter. Graduate goalie
Lauren Bain played all 60 minutes for the Eagles, falling to 0-3 on the season despite making 14 saves and allowing 10 goals in the game. Junior goalie Sarahkate Schneider got her first win of the season in net, after starting 0-8, making five saves in 55-plus minutes of action while allowing just three goals.
After her three-point first half, three points from Carpenter in the second half led to a six-point afternoon for the freshman, as she finished with two goals and four assists while Cipot notched a hat trick after scoring a team-high three goals and tacking on an assist for a four-point game. Freshman midfielder
Caryss Kehl tallied her first collegiate assist in the 10-3 loss, helping out on Patfield's third-quarter goal, accounting for the only Post assist of the day.
