Leighton Cooke - Player of the Week - Men's Lacrosse
Cooke kept up his hat trick streak, extending it to six straight games after a pair of six-goal, one-assist games against the University of the District of Columbia and Holy Family University during a 2-0 week for the Eagles. Cooke's first six-goal game helped Post get a 24-5 win over the Firebirds on Tuesday before the second one would give Post their first conference win of the season, 17-8, on the road against the Tigers on Saturday. The junior is now tied for the team lead in goals with 24 while leading the team with 13 assists so far this season.
Charlie Foster - Defensive Player/Rookie of the Week - Men's Lacrosse
Foster finished with a team-high 20 ground balls this week for the Eagles while also dominating in the faceoff circle, winning 32-of-48 draws between Post's two games against the University of the District of Columbia and Holy Family University this week. The Eagles, who went 2-0, would be led by Foster's 15-for-24 performance in the dot against the Firebirds with eight ground balls before his 17-for-24 game with 12 ground balls against the Tigers.
Aiden Waller - Honor Roll - Men's Lacrosse
Waller won his first collegiate games in net for the Eagles this week, going 2-0 with wins against the University of the District of Columbia and Holy Family University. Playing only 45 minutes against the Firebirds, Waller made seven saves while allowing only three goals before making 13 saves with eight goals allowed against the Tigers over the weekend. Waller finished the week making 20 saves while allowing only 11 goals for Post.
Allysa Calabrese - Honor Roll - Softball
Calabrese took the mound for the first time in nearly a year for the Eagles, helping Post pick up their first win against Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday. Calabrese spun a complete-game, one-hit shutout against the Owls with one strikeout and four walks in Post's 2-0 win before coming in relief the same day against Saint Anselm College to throw three innings in which she allowed one run on one hit with one walk. The sophomore finished the week going 10 innings in one day while allowing one run on two hits with five walks and one strikeout. At the plate, Calabrese went 4-for-11 with a triple, one RBI, and three runs scored across the four games she played in.
Joe Christiana - Honor Roll - Baseball
Christiana made program history in his lone start of the week for the Eagles, becoming the program's all-time leader in strikeouts with 192 after recording six against Caldwell University in game one on Sunday. Christiana went seven innings, allowing just two runs (one earned) on four hits with those six strikeouts and a walk to earn his second win of the season on the mound.
Rene Vega III - Honor Roll - Baseball
Vega III hit .583 during a five-game week for the Eagles in which Post went 4-1 to move to 8-0 in conference play, a program-best start for the team. Vega III finished the week tied for the team lead in hits, going 7-for-12 with two walks, two RBIs, and four runs scored to help Post sweep through Caldwell University in their home-and-home doubleheader over the weekend.
