VIERA, Fla. – Looking to avenge yesterday's loss against Franklin Pierce University, Post University Softball faced off against the Ravens in their first of two games of the day down in Florida, but were stifled by sophomore right-hander Kennedy Morris to the tune of their fifth shutout loss of the season, falling 8-0 in six innings after a lengthy rain delay in the bottom of the final frame on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Morris picked up right where she left off yesterday after coming on in relief for the Ravens in yesterday's matchup against the Eagles to pick up the win in that 7-5 victory. The sophomore would go the full six innings while allowing just three hits to go along with her four strikeouts, one walk, and wild pitch in her fifth victory on the mound this season.
Franklin Pierce's offense struck for three first-inning runs behind a sacrifice fly from sophomore third baseman Raylee Gilbert followed by back-to-back hits from senior first baseman Anna Erikson and senior third baseman Lita Vorseth via a single and double respectively to go ahead 3-0. Senior outfielder Amy Jones added another run in the second inning with her RBI double, extending the lead to four runs before the Ravens would be held in check until the sixth inning when they doubled their lead via four more runs.
Graduate right-hander
Katelyn Lipsky made the start for Post and went the full six innings while throwing 109 pitches and giving up eight runs on 13 hits with three strikeouts, two walks, and a wild pitch as she fell to 0-5 on the season. The Eagles were held to just three hits offensively, all of which came from the middle of the lineup, while defensively they did not record an error in the game for the first time this season.
With the weather delay in the bottom of the sixth inning forcing the teams to leave the field for an extended period of time, Post's second game of the day against Southern Connecticut State University will get underway later on in the evening.
