#21 Men's Soccer's Unbeaten Season Ends at Bentley University in 1-0 Loss

WALTHAM, Mass. – An hour or so after being ranked 21st in the latest United Soccer Coaches National Poll, Post University Men's Soccer saw its unbeaten season come to a close with a regular-season finale defeat on the road against #11 Bentley University on Tuesday afternoon, 1-0. Junior goalkeeper Leopold Dufaut made two saves on three shot attempts for the Eagles in goal as the overall unbeaten streak dating back to last year for Post was snapped at 17 matches.

THE BASICS

#21 Post University 0, #11 Bentley University 1

#21 Post University (7-0-7)

#11 Bentley University (10-1-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Drahos would record the only shot on goal for Bentley in the entire first half, but it would lead to the only score of the half as well for either side. In the 20th minute, a bouncing ball that came off the feet of sophomore midfielder David Rumble and senior forward Parker Higgins found Drahos near the right side of the box.

Taking a few steps towards Dufaut in the net, Drahos fired low on the ground to his left, freezing Dufaut in place and getting the shot just inside the left post to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. Over the first 45 minutes, Post held an 8-4 edge in shots and a 2-1 lead in shots on goal with three corner kicks, but could not beat graduate goalkeeper Cam Hall.

With just about 26 minutes remaining in the match, graduate midfielder Luis Rodrigues would nearly tie things up as senior forward Matheus Milagres crossed a ball into the box, but it would go right into the hands of Hall, quelling the threat. Moments later, two chances would come Post's way as junior forward Aidan Tross was denied one-on-one with Hall, as was freshman defender Pedro Vercosa on the ensuing corner kick from graduate midfielder Sami Charaf Amal.

The chances would keep coming for the Eagles as in the 73rd minute, senior midfielder Lukas Glade got fed a pass behind the Falcon defense from graduate midfielder Pablo Tenorio, but was unable to elevate it over Hall, who made the stop. That would end up being the last major chance Hall faced in net, holding Post off the scoreboard the remainder of the way, earning his team a 1-0 regular-season ending victory after making six saves in goal.
