HOW IT HAPPENED
With both sides vying for a bid to the CACC Semifinals, it was the Lions who came out of the gate aggressively against junior goalkeeper
Leopold Dufaut, generating three shots in the opening nine minutes of the contest to just one for Post from junior forward
Aidan Tross. Tenorio, who had the game-winning penalty kick goal, would notch the first shot on goal for Post in the 14th minute against senior goalkeeper Ayendi Batista.
For the half, it was Georgian Court holding a slight 7-6 edge in shots overall, forcing Dufaut to make five saves in goal, while Ayendi made two saves on three attempts by the Eagles. The lone shot to go in would come on Tenorio's penalty kick in the 25th minute as the senior got a hand on the ball, but it still found its way into the net for the eventual game-winning goal.
Aggressive play led to nine total yellow cards being issued in the match, eight of which came during and after the halftime break, with Post accounting for six of them by the end of the match. The second half would be controlled offensively by the Lions as they peppered Dufaut with 16 shots, six of which went on net. Dufaut would finish the match with 11 saves as Georgian Court recorded 23 total shots to just nine for Post, who held off the late charge in the 1-0 win.
