WATERBURY, Conn. -- In the final NCAA Regional Rankings release of the season, Post University Women's Volleyball held steady at fifth in the East Region, following their 2-0 week against conference opponents, ahead of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament, which kicked off last night for the Eagles, who swept past Jefferson, 3-0, in the Drubner Center. The regional rankings did not take into account any conference tournament matches played so far this week.
No changes occurred across the entire top ten from a week ago, as Post, who now sits at 25-4, will roll into the CACC Semifinals to take on Holy Family University, the South Division's two seed, on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Goldey-Beacom College at 12:00 PM, in hopes of making it back to the CACC Championship on Sunday for the second consecutive year. The Tigers came back against the Eagles just the other week in the Drubner Center to win in five sets, 3-2, snapping Post's unbeaten streak at home, as well as their nine-game winning streak.Â
As it stands, the Eagles look to be in a prime position to earn themselves an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament at the very least, but can ensure they are not waiting to hear their name called on Monday night at 7:30 PM by locking up a spot via the automatic qualifier in the CACC Tournament. All four of Post's losses have come against teams in the East Region who are currently in consideration.Â
