Reese Kloetzer Scores First Goal of Season in 3-1 Women's Soccer Defeat to Holy Family

WATERBURY, Conn. – Junior midfielder Reese Kloetzer scored her first goal of the season in the second half for Post University Women's Soccer, but a two-goal afternoon for sophomore forward Bridget Dickson helped Holy Family University pick up their first win overall and in conference play against the Eagles on Saturday afternoon, 3-1, down in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

THE BASICS

Post University 1, Holy Family University 3

Post University (0-7-1, 0-3-1 CACC)

Holy Family University (1-5-3, 1-0-3 CACC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Dickson found the back of the net against junior goalkeeper Aryn Nisbet less than 10 minutes into the contest with the help of sophomore midfielder Gyzell Rowan in what would be the only goal of the first half for either side. Holy Family outshot Post by a 5-1 margin, with Dickson's score being the only shot on goal for either side through the first 45 minutes of action. Even in the offensive zone, the Tigers would only have two corner kicks to the one for the Eagles.

Graduate defender Alyanna Beaudoin had the lone shot of the half for Post, a header in the 15th minute, that went wide of junior goalkeeper Jaina Preuhs in net. Preuhs would finish the match with two saves while allowing one goal to Kloetzer in the second half in the 79th minute, which cut the Tiger lead in half, 2-1, after freshman midfielder Kenna Rozanski scored an insurance goal in the 69th minute. Only three minutes after the Kloetzer goal, which was unassisted, Dickson tacked on her second of the game in the 82nd minute, sealing the 3-1 win for the Tigers.

In total, Post was outshot 14-5 overall and 6-3 in shots on goal, with Nisbet finishing the game with three saves, all of which came in the second half, as did the two for Preuhs. The loss dropped the Eagles to 0-7-1 on the season while giving Holy Family their first win and conference win as they now sit at 1-5-3 overall and 1-0-3 in conference play, while holding a 21-2-0 record in the all-time series against Post.
