MANCHESTER, N.H. – Freshman forward
Bradley McMains scored his first collegiate goal for Post University Men's Ice Hockey, but the Eagles were doubled up on the road against Saint Anselm College, 4-2, which included an 0-for-6 night on the power play. The loss keeps Post in the bottom half of the Northeast-10 standings with four other teams still in progress this evening as they currently sit in fourth place only two points behind Southern New Hampshire University and one point ahead of Assumption University for the time being.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Like in their last game against Southern New Hampshire University, the Eagles would score two while giving up three in the first period which ended up making all the difference in the final score of the affair. However, this time around it was Post who took a pair of one-goal leads with the help of McMains and freshman forwards
Jonathan Meijer who both scored less than four minutes apart to give the Eagles leads of 1-0 and 2-1.
But after that first goal by Meijer, only 22 seconds later freshman forward Conor Kelly tied it up at one all and then less than four minutes after the McMains goal, Kelly's second goal of the game on the first of five power-play chances on the day for the Hawks tied it up at two with still 4:11 left in the first period. Breaking that tie with less than five seconds remaining in the frame would be this week's NE10 Player of the Week in junior forward Garrett Alberti as Saint Anselm led 3-2 after 20 minutes of action.
Despite allowing four goals in the contest, senior goalie
Drew Blodgett made 26 total saves, including 10 in both the first and second periods, while his counterpart in sophomore goalie Cam Carroll made 27 saves while allowing those two first-period goals to the Eagles and making 10 saves each in both the second and third periods of the game.
Still down by a goal heading into the third after a scoreless second, Post had a pair of power-play attempts, including a 5-on-3 for 58 seconds after freshman defender Hunter Hoffman's tripping penalty only 1:02 into the period. But the Eagles would be unable to cash in on it, finishing the game 0-for-6 on the power play while senior forward Chase Reynolds added an insurance goal on the power play for Saint Anselm who used that three-goal first period to propel themselves to a 4-2 victory over Post on Friday night.
