SHELTON, Conn. – Junior forward
Tristan Currie netted her first goal of the season in the third period of the first game back from the winter break for Post University Women's Ice Hockey, but the Eagles were unable to overcome a three-goal deficit against Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) on Friday night at home, falling 4-1, to the Tigers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Four power-plays on the evening for the Eagles would lead to no goals while RIT made the most of their power-play chances converting on two in the game en route to the victory. The Tigers also capitalized during a Post power-play as a turnover by the Eagles in the defensive end led to a goal for senior defenseman Jordyn Bear which at the time made it a 3-0 game in the second period.
The Tigers started the first period on their heels, being outshot 3-1 on goal by the Eagles before turning on the offense to the tune of a 7-0 margin the rest of the frame while scoring two goals. The first would come on the power play by senior forward Bronwyn Khangsar just over eight minutes into the game before six minutes after that senior forward Kylie Aquaro tipped one past junior goalie
Hannah Saunders on the initial shot by junior forward Jaidan Fahrny.
Following the Bear goal in the second which was shorthanded for the Tigers, Saunders would finish with 13 saves total in the second while junior goalie Sophia Bellina stopped all five shots she faced. Bellina would narrowly miss getting her second shutout of the season as a puck thrown from center ice by Currie kicked off her blocker and stick before falling across the goal line just 3 1/2 minutes into the third to cut the Post deficit down to two goals, 3-1.
Nothing would get by Bellina the rest of the way as the junior finished with 11 saves while Saunders finished with 30 saves for Post. Graduate defenseman Mia Tsilemos finished the night off with an empty net goal for RIT with 4.9 seconds to go as the Tigers snapped the Eagles' two-game winning streak with a 4-1 win at the Sports Center of Connecticut on Friday night.
