SHELTON, Conn. – Freshman defenseman
Caryss Kehl did it again in overtime for Post University Women's Ice Hockey, this time at home against Assumption University on Friday afternoon. For the second time this season, Kehl scored the overtime winner for the Eagles after senior defenseman
Angeline Pitter tied the game at one with just over 10 seconds left in regulation during a 6-on-4 power play, propelling Post to their second straight win, 2-1, over the Greyhounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
It was the first home start of the season for freshman goalie
Devyn Amundson for the Eagles who made two starts so far this year both on the road against Colgate and Assumption, allowing seven goals in each of those affairs. But Friday would be a different story for the Canadian between the pipes as she went toe-to-toe in a defensive battle against sophomore goalie Jadyn Weiser.
Through the first 40 minutes of action, both Weiser and Amundson would be perfect in the net despite four power-play opportunities for the Greyhounds and a pair of chances for the Eagles as well. In all, Amundson would make 23 stops in the first two periods while Weiser faced only 11 shots from Post, all of which she turned away.
In a game that seemed destined for a scoreless overtime, former Post forward and current senior Greyhound Kiersten Browning found a way to beat Amundson on an awkward shot attempt that initially came from freshman forward Avalyn Mikkelson from the right side. That shot would ricochet off several bodies in front of the net before Browning redirected it slowly just inside the left post before the halfway point of the third, giving Assumption the lead, 1-0.
With time winding down, the Eagles were still in search of the equalizer and a roughing penalty issued to sophomore defenseman Katelyn Prive with 1:05 remaining in regulation gave them that window to tie things up at one. Pulled from the goal was Amundson, creating a 6-on-4 situation for Post in which Pitter got space near the blue line and rifled a shot by Weiser with 10.8 seconds left on the clock, forcing a 3-on-3 sudden death overtime frame.
In that five-minute session, Kehl would end up being the hero for the second time this season as an initial shot by junior forward
Tristan Currie bounced out to the blue line where the freshman waited. Curling back down the left side of the ice, Kehl forced her way from the end board to the front of the goal and squeezed the puck between Weiser's pad and the left pipe, scoring the game-winner for the Eagles to complete the comeback win.
