HOW IT HAPPENED
Outshot 15-3 in the first half, the Eagles managed to hold off the offensive firepower of the Knights with sophomore goalkeeper
Aryn Nisbet in the net making all four saves she needed to which kept the score even. Freshman goalkeeper Samantha Hines-Hirsch, who had started the first three games of the season for Queens College, only needed to make one save in net as the first 45 minutes went by without a score.
Sophomore defender Lluvy Lewis got the game's first goal in the 66th minute of the second half as she received a backward pass from sophomore forward Jenna Rosenberger about 25 yards away from the goal mouth. Firing away on Nisbet, she would beat her in the right corner as the Knights who would end up adding an insurance goal moments later on freshman forward Abigail Jalocha's goal from senior defender Sarah Anderson.
Anderson lifted a pass from the defensive side of the field which hit Jalocha in stride as she went over Nisbet's head with the soft touch and scored to make it a 2-0 game. Just after the water break at the 70-minute mark of the affair, Hebb got Post back within one off a throw-in from the Knights with just under 12 minutes to go which was tipped by Hebb over to sophomore forward
Jordyn Calas.
Hebb would streak through the defense and receive the ball back from Calas, locating it over the head of junior goalkeeper Jessica Daymond, who came in for the final 20 minutes of the affair, off the top right corner's crossbar. However, despite the constant pressure leading to four shot opportunities down the stretch for the Eagles, shots from sophomore defender
Taylar Gottsegen would go just over the crossbar or into the hands of Daymond while Hebb and freshman midfielder
Rhee Morrison's shots were over the top of the goal in the eventual 2-1 defeat.
