Stage Set for Baseball in NCAA Regional, Slated to Travel to Molloy and Face Goldey-Beacom in Game One

WATERBURY, Conn. -- The field is set in the East Region for the 2024 NCAA Baseball Regionals and Post University Baseball will enter their first regional as the third seed. In the bracket which was released late Sunday night, Southern New Hampshire came in as the top seed, hosting fourth-seeded Jefferson University and fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce University in the top half of the bracket this weekend.

On the bottom half, it was Molloy University being tabbed as the two seed and the host, taking on the Northeast-10 Conference winner and seventh-seeded University of New Haven while the Eagles got a familiar foe in Goldey-Beacom College who was given the sixth seed after being swept out of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament this past weekend.

For the Eagles, this will be their first time in the NCAA Tournament as they defeated Jefferson University on Saturday, 4-3, in the CACC Tournament Championship to seal their first CACC Conference title in program history. Along the way to the title, Post played Goldey-Beacom in their first game, coming back from a 4-0 deficit early to beat the Lightning on a walk-off single by senior outfielder Danny Gill in the bottom of the ninth.

Goldey-Beacom would end up falling in their next game that evening against Jefferson, being bounced from the CACC Tournament while Post took down Felician University the next day, 10-5, after trailing 2-0 early and then winning the championship after overcoming another deficit, this time of three runs, against the Rams.

Post will face off against Goldey-Beacom at Molloy University in Rockville Centre, New York on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 PM following the Molloy-New Haven game set to take place at 11:00 AM. The tournament will be double elimination with the loser of each game on Thursday playing on Friday morning at 11:00 AM while the two winners will play at 2:00 PM the next day.
