Dante Despontin was named CACC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for Post University Men's Tennis as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Despontin had a perfect week for Post University Men's Tennis in both the #2 Doubles and #3 Singles in a 2-1 week for the Eagles. Despontin was a combined 6-0 between Singles and Doubles matches, winning in three sets against Tiago Lima twice from Chestnut Hill College while providing a near-sweep of Leonhard Fleisch against Dominican (N.Y.) in his other match. Teamed up with
Gustavo Kerber for all three Doubles matches he played in, Despontin helped take down Joao Sousa and Lima twice by scores of 6-3 and 6-1 while beating Ali Zizi and Qalib B. Ladhani, 7-6, with a 7-5 tiebreaker point.
The Eagles are back in action tomorrow afternoon at Jefferson University to face the Rams in a CACC matchup starting at 3:00 PM in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
