Jack Martineau Named CACC Co-Rookie of the Week for Baseball, Three Eagles Named to Honor Roll

WATERBURY, Conn. -- It was yet another big week for awards for Post University Athletics, highlighted by freshman right-hander Jack Martineau earned his first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference award after being named Co-Rookie of the Week for Post University Baseball. Also winning awards were senior infielder Lily Tomasiello from Post University Softball who made CACC Honor Roll for the third time this year and second straight week, senior outfielder Jaylen Kelley from Baseball getting his first-ever CACC Honor Roll award, and junior midfielder Tim Keefe with his second CACC Honor Roll this spring as announced by the league office on Monday.

Jack Martineau - Co-Rookie of the Week - Baseball
Martineau dominated during his early week start against the University of Bridgeport in Post University Baseball's 13-0 home win over the Purple Knights on Wednesday afternoon. Martineau put up his best numbers of the season after going the full seven innings while netting his first career shutout, allowing only three hits while striking out a career-high eight batters and walking only two in the victory. As a starter this season, Martineau is now 2-2 while appearing in a total of nine games for Post.

Jaylen Kelley - Honor Roll - Baseball
Kelley had his best week as a member of the Post University Baseball team after going 7-for-17 with a home run, two doubles, seven runs batted in, three runs scored, and two walks during a 3-2 week for the Eagles. Kelley tallied his first collegiate home run and runs batted in all last week, including a monster 3-for-5 game against the University of Bridgeport in game one on Saturday. The senior finished 3-for-5 with five RBIs, including a grand slam, in Post's 16-0 win before tacking on another hit and RBI in game two. Kelley finished with hits in four of the five games Post played this week while having a .412 batting average, .500 on-base percentage, and .706 slugging percentage.

Lily Tomasiello - Honor Roll - Softball
Tomasiello kept her hot streak going for Post University Softball despite a 1-5 week for the Eagles. Tomaisello recorded three more home runs and drove in six more runs while scoring six times herself, walking twice, and stealing a base. In all, the senior had a .278 batting average and with her three home runs moved to seven on the season which put her within two of tying the single-season program record at Post.

Tim Keefe - Honor Roll - Men's Lacrosse
Keefe had a torrid week for Post University Men's Lacrosse, tying the program record for most assists in a game with seven against Dominican (N.Y.) in the first of two games for the Eagles during a 1-1 week. Keefe finished the week totaling up five goals and seven assists for Post for a total of 12 points which was a team high. Additionally, the junior also contributed four ground balls and caused three turnovers in two games during the week and recorded a hat trick against Chestnut Hill College over the weekend.
