Matt Semon and Lauren Bain Headline CACC Weekly Awards for Post Athletics

WATERBURY, Conn. -- Senior right-hander Matt Semon and senior goalie Lauren Bain headlined the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Awards for Post University Baseball and Women's Lacrosse respectively while four more Eagles made Honor Roll in graduate shooting guard Maya Klein, junior point guard Bol Akot, and freshman midfielders Roksana Debicka and Klara Domachowska as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Matt Semon - Pitcher of the Week - Baseball
Semon had a stellar outing in his lone start of the week for Post University Baseball. In arguably his best start of the year, Semon went seven strong innings in which he allowed just one run on five hits while striking out nine batters and walking just two. Semon would ultimately end up getting a no-decision in the affair as the Eagles came back from a 1-0 deficit in the ninth to win in extra innings, 3-1, against regionally-ranked Franklin Pierce University on Friday afternoon.

Lauren Bain - Goalie of the Week - Women's Lacrosse
Bain needed just 45 minutes of action to help Post University Women's Lacrosse get the win over the University of the District of Columbia on Saturday, stopping six of the seven shots she faced through the first three quarters before being lifted. The Eagles built up at 17-0 lead over the Firebirds before Bain allowed her first goal in the third and then rested in the fourth while her team finished off an 18-2 win.

Maya Klein - Honor Roll - Women's Basketball
Klein helped lead Post University Women's Basketball to their second straight CACC North Division Regular Season Championship after a big win on Saturday afternoon against the University of Bridgeport. While the Eagles were 1-1 on the week, Klein was a key factor in both games after dropping 29 total points, snagging six rebounds, recording two assists, two steals, and one block overall. Klein was lights out shooting 10-for-19 (52.6%) overall and 6-of-10 (60%) from three as well as a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line. In the win over the Purple Knights, Klein had a team-high 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting while going 4-for-5 from three which included making her first four long-range shots. The shooting guard has now topped double-digit points in three straight games.

Bol Akot - Honor Roll - Men's Basketball
Akot was pivotal on both sides of the ball for Post University Men's Basketball to help the Eagles earn the two seed in the North Division heading into the CACC Tournament. On the week, Akot averaged 16 points per game while shooting 12-of-27 (44.4%), hitting his lone three of the week, and going 7-for-11 (63.6%) from the free throw line. Akot also had nine rebounds, eight assists, five steals, and one block with a nearly even performance in each of the two games Post played against Caldwell University and the University of Bridgeport.

Roksana Debicka - Honor Roll - Women's Lacrosse
Debicka has led the way for Post University Women's Lacrosse in the early part of the season, scoring four more goals this week to go along with two assists offensively in Post's 18-2 win over the University of the District of Columbia this past weekend. Debicka also had five ground balls and two caused turnovers in the win which places her first in the ground ball category on the team and second in caused turnovers so far this season. With six more points on Saturday, Debicka now has 10 total points to lead the way for Post along with eight total goals.

Klara Domachowska - Honor Roll - Women's Lacrosse
Domachowska had four first-half goals for Post University Women's Lacrosse to help them rout the University of the District of Columbia on Saturday afternoon, 18-2.
