Roksana Debicka Named CACC Rookie of the Week, Three Eagles Named to Honor Roll

WATERBURY, Conn. -- Freshman midfielder Roksana Debicka earned her first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Major Award after a pair of Honor Roll recognitions, being named CACC Rookie of the Week for Post University Women's Lacrosse while big weeks from junior catcher Jimmy Brennan, graduate right-hander Joe Christiana, and senior infielder Lily Tomasiello landed the trio on the CACC Honor Roll for Post University Baseball and Softball respectively as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Roksana Debicka - Rookie of the Week - Women's Lacrosse
Debicka led the Post University Women's Lacrosse team offensively last week, tying for the team-high in goals with six while leading the team in assists with five for a team-high 11 points in two games. In a 25-1 win over Felician, Debicak struck for four goals and four assists, mostly all in the first half of the victory for a total of eight points while scoring two more and assisting on another goal against Holy Family on Saturday in Post's 17-10 defeat. Additionally, the midfielder caused a team-high seven turnovers, picked up seven ground balls, and won eight draw controls during the week.

Lily Tomasiello - Honor Roll - Softball
Tomasiello broke out of her slump in a big way for Post University Softball, helping the Eagles snap a five-game losing streak with a game two victory over AIC last week, 12-4. Tomasiello hit .412 for the week with her 7-for-17 performance in which she had a three-run home run to help Post jump out to a 9-3 lead over the Yellow Jackets while recording five runs batted in, three walks, and three runs scored. In the field, the senior had a perfect fielding percentage after converting on 31 of her attempts via 29 put outs and two assists.

Joe Christiana - Honor Roll - Baseball
Christiana dominated Felician University in his start during game one of Friday's doubleheader for Post University Baseball. Christiana went the complete seven innings that the game would last after the Eagle offense came to life for 11 runs to end the game in a mercy rule. Christiana allowed a run in the first inning on three hits before settling down to allow no runs on three hits over the last six innings of work. Overall, the right-hander's complete game saw him give up just one run on six hits with seven strikeouts and two walks for the win.

Jimmy Brennan - Honor Roll - Baseball
Brennan helped pace Post University Baseball to a 2-1 week against Felician University in their opening three games of conference play last week. Brennan played in all three games in which he hit .545 after going 6-for-11 with a double, home run, two runs batted in, and five runs scored. Brennan was a key part of Post's 11-1 game one victory over the Golden Falcons last Wednesday with his solo home run in the sixth that helped jumpstart the Eagle offense to their mercy rule win. Overall, in that Friday doubleheader, the junior was 5-for-7 with two runs batted in and four runs scored as well as a double and home run. Brennan was 1-for-4 in the opening game of the three-game set at Felician with a run scored earlier in the week.
