WATERBURY, Conn. – For the fourth straight season, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Regular Season Crown will go to Post University Men's Soccer in their quest for a sixth consecutive CACC Championship starting on Sunday afternoon. With a 3-0 victory over the University of Bridgeport on Wednesday's Senior Day, which honored eight seniors before the start of the match, the Eagles sit alone atop the CACC Standings.
It is still unknown who Post will host as the rest of the CACC teams play tomorrow afternoon and evening. But it will be the winner of the Holy Family University-Jefferson University match taking place on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 PM as both teams are tied for the eighth and final seed in the tournament at 13 points meaning the winner will take the final spot and travel to LaMoy Field on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 PM. In the event of a tie between the Tigers and Rams, the eighth seed would come down to tiebreakers to decide who the Eagles will play on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Three first-half goals would be more than enough to pace the Eagles to their midday victory to close out the regular season starting with a free kick from graduate midfielder
Luca Dettoli that caromed into the box and deflected off of junior defender Bruno Cakurs into the back of the net past graduate goalkeeper Gianny Provincial to give Post a 1-0 lead in only the eighth minute.
No less than 10 minutes later, it would be Dettoli's turn to score on the fly with his free kick just outside of the box after freshman forward
Marc Ballart was fouled just outside the box by graduate defender Noah Bolivard who received a yellow card for the infraction. Closing out the scoring would be senior forward
Francisco Sousa with the help of junior midfielder
Lukas Glade on his shot after weaving between defenders after initially to find an opening in the box.
At the half, the Eagles and Purple Knights each manufactured five shots each with all five being on goal for Post while only one reached net for Bridgeport and was stopped by graduate goalkeeper
Ricardo Moreno. Fouls would also be close with the Purple Knights having an 8-7 edge in that category and offensively they would also have a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks as well.
The final 45 minutes of the match would feature a combined five shots between the two teams with the Eagles holding a slim 3-2 lead and 2-1 edge in shots on goal as neither team would find the back of the net. The Purple Knights would double Post on their foul total, 12-6, finish the match with 20 fouls to 13 fouls for the Eagles who got their eighth shutout of the season, 3-0, en route to their conference regular season title.
