WATERBURY, Conn. – When top-seeded Post University Men's Soccer needed somebody to step up and answer the call in Sunday afternoon's CACC Quarterfinals match at LaMoy Field against eighth-seeded Jefferson University, there was junior midfielder
Markus Boe Tunge to answer it in. On a chilly afternoon in Waterbury, Connecticut, 90 minutes would not be enough to decide who moved on to face fifth-seeded Wilmington University in the CACC Semifinals.
It would take just under 94 to get a solution to a 0-0 stalemate and it came in the form of Boe Tunge's game-winning goal on a free kick to keep the Eagles' hopes of making it six consecutive CACC Championships alive with a 1-0 overtime win against the Rams.

Jefferson University (9-7-3)
HOW IT HAPPENED
While both sides were incredibly aggressive to the tune of 42 combined fouls which favored Jefferson, 24-18, over the course of the 94 minutes played, offensive chances were hard to come by for either team even up until Boe Tunge's game-winning goal. The first half featured just one shot on goal for either team which was from freshman midfielder
Len Fliss for Post who was denied by graduate goalkeeper John Nelson while the Eagles held a 3-0 lead in shots overall through 45 minutes.
Tensions would get high in the second half with the seasons being on the line for both squads in a scoreless match but neither side would be able to break through. The biggest chance for the Rams came in the 63rd minute following a foul issued to graduate defender
Santiago Palacios in which junior midfielder Sean Stackhouse's shot rang just off the field goal posts behind the goal and deflected to the foot of sophomore defender Matty Hood who put the ball by graduate goalkeeper
Ricardo Moreno.
However, the play was whistled dead and the goal did not count because the field goal crossbar and not the crossbar of the goal therefore being ruled out of play and a goal kick for the Eagles. For Post, graduate midfielder
Luca Dettoli had their best chance of the half when he rang a shot off the right post with nothing but net in front of him as Nelson made three saves to Moreno's one to send the match to golden goal overtime.
For nearly the first four minutes, neither side would have any quality chances against the other until Boe Tunge's game-winner was set up by senior midfielder Mateo Infante's foul on graduate midfielder
Luis Rodrigues. Taking the free kick from about 5-10 yards outside the box, Boe Tunge beat Nelson to his left side for the game-winning score to set Post up with a date against the Wildcats on Wednesday afternoon at LaMoy Field in the CACC Semifinals.
