In Monday Make-up Match, Women's Soccer Shut Out by Georgian Court

LAKEWOOD, N.J. -- Reduced to eight field players at times in both the first and second halves due to injury, Post University Women's Soccer continued to fight despite the odds being stacked against them in their penultimate match of the season against Georgian Court University on the road. The Monday afternoon match, which ended in a 5-0 defeat for the Eagles, was a make-up from when the two teams were supposed to meet on October 26th, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it was moved to today.

THE BASICS

Post University 0, Georgian Court University 5

Post University (2-12-0, 2-8-0 CACC)

Georgian Court University (10-4-2, 7-2-0 CACC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions would hold the Eagles to no shots in the first half as senior goalkeeper Emma Bennett got the start and ended up facing no shots the entire 68:40 she played in net. It would not be until sophomore goalkeeper Jaeleigh Tuccille entered the match that Post would rattle off three shots on goal that would be stopped by her. The first shot on goal for the Eagles did not come until the 71st minute from sophomore midfielder Reese Kloetzer which was stopped by Tuccille.

Sophomore midfielder Delia Kotsaftis nearly had her first collegiate goal in the 81st minute but connected with the crossbar instead and moments later senior forward Anna Eicke would have a strike towards Tuccille that went off the back of a Post player and out of harm's way for Georgian Court.

Freshman forward Chelsea Lavezzo continued her rookie season to remember for the Lions, tacking on two goals in the second half to bring her season total to 16 overall in 17 matches. Senior forward Juliana Rettino, senior midfielder Sophia Ridolfo, and sophomore forward Chiamaka Wokocha had the other three tallies in the 5-0 win for Georgian Court against sophomore goalkeeper Aryn Nisbet who made eight saves in the loss.
