WATERBURY, Conn. –  In a season of growth for Post University Women's Soccer that saw numerous players hit the pitch as starters for the first time as an Eagle throughout the year and many battling through injuries towards the end of the season, Post saw their season come to a close on Wednesday afternoon at LaMoy Field with a 6-0 loss at the hands of the University of Bridgeport.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Senior forward Jayven Howarth had two goals and an assist, helping out on all three goals to open up the first half for Bridgeport. Howarth scored her two goals inside the first five minutes of the match before graduate forward Tatianna Lizarraga scored her third goal of the season in the 23rd minute with the help of Howarth as well as junior forward Chloe Oudin.

Less than two minutes later, Oudin was taken down inside the box by sophomore defender Taylor Morales leading to a penalty kick for the junior which she would get off of sophomore goalkeeper Aryn Nisbet's hands and have enough power on to get into the left side of the goal mouth to make it a 4-0 game in the 25th minute.

Two more goals would find their way past Nisbet off the feet of freshman forward Luiza Macedo and junior forward Ellen Lundeberg in the 30th and 35th minutes respectively as the Purple Knights held a 21-4 lead in shots overall and 10-0 edge in shots on goal while Nisbet made four saves.

The Post offense would generate some chances in the second half with sophomore midfielder Reese Kloetzer firing on senior goalkeeper Helena Dahlstrom who made two saves in 39 minutes for Bridgeport before freshman goalkeeper Sky Hernandez came in for the final six minutes to make two stops in the 6-0 victory for the Purple Knights.
