WATERBURY, Conn. – In what was a must-win to ensure Post University Women's Volleyball could take their first CACC North Division title since 2018, the Eagles overcame an early scare against winless Bloomfield College on Senior Day in the Drubner Center to sweep the Bears, 3-0, on Saturday morning.
As the top seed in the North, Post will play host to either Goldey-Beacom College or Wilmington University who are facing each other this afternoon for the fourth seed in the CACC South Division. That CACC Quarterfinals match will take place on Tuesday in the Drubner Center at 6:00 PM against the winner of that match later on today.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Graduate outside hitters
Sara Enright and
Kristina Peric along with senior outside hitter
Caley Harper got the scoring started for Post, who jumped out to an early 8-2 lead in the first set before the Bears began creeping back into the contest. Trailing by eight, a 4-0 run off the back of two errors as well as a kill and service ace cut into the Eagle lead and after a pair of back-and-forth points, another 4-0 run made it a one-point game, 13-12, in favor of Post.
Out of a timeout from the Eagles, the Bears would take their first lead of the set, 14-13, and as part of a 5-2 run lead by as many as two points, 16-14, before Post collected themselves down the stretch and rode a 5-0 set ending run to a 25-20 victory. That would be the worst set of the match in terms of hitting percentage for the Eagles who attacked at a .231 clip with six errors while having that many combined over the final two sets.
After that late lead in set one, Bloomfield would only take the lead twice more at the beginning of the third set by singular points, 1-0 and 2-1. But before that, the Eagles polished off a near-perfect second set in which they had a match-best .433 attack percentage and just one error en route to a 25-9 set win. Set three would be another double-digit win for Post, 25-11, featuring another session in which the Eagles attacked above. 300 with a .333 attack percentage to go along with their 14 total kills.
In an even effort for the Eagle offense, Peric led the team with 13 kills on 28 attempts for a .286 attack percentage followed by Peric at 11 kills with a .526 attack percentage on 19 attempts. Junior libero
Alyssa Groves needed just 19 digs in the match while senior setter
Maria Fernanda Branco led all players with 22 assists in the 3-0 win. As a team, Bloomfield attacked at just .094 for the entire match with senior middle blocker Kyomaris Morales leading the team with seven kills and a .240 attack percentage after 25 attempts with only one error.
The win for the Eagles marked the second straight match in which they have beaten the Bears, who finish the season 0-22 with an 0-16 record in conference play and the third time in the last three meetings Post has come out on top, all by way of a sweep, after losing six consecutive matches against them before that.
