WATERBURY, Conn. – Freshman forward
Marc Ballart's second goal of the season and graduate midfielder
Luis Rodrigues' first goal of the season in the second half helped Post University Men's Soccer earn their second consecutive shutout win in conference play against Bloomfield College at home on Tuesday afternoon, 2-0. The win helped push Post to 3-0-2 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference this season and move their unbeaten streak to four straight matches, all of which have been against conference opponents.
THE BASICS

Post University (5-3-3, 3-0-2 CACC)
Bloomfield College (1-4-2, 0-3-2 CACC)
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Post defense would stand tall today against the Bears, only allowing them to manufacture four total shots in the entire game with none of them reaching graduate goalkeeper
Ricardo Moreno who earned his third shutout of the season overall and back-to-back shutouts for the Eagles.
Freshman midfielder
Len Fliss would have a couple of chances in the affair to net his second goal of the season, including one in the 36
th minute of the first half when he beat freshman goalkeeper Sander Meintjes and had nothing but the net in front of him but pulled the ball right of the goal mouth. In the second half, Fliss had a chance to break the scoreless tie again as he beat Meintjes with a header to the right side but was ruled offsides, nullifying the goal.
But not long after that, Ballart got Post on the scoreboard as a turnover in the defensive zone by the Bears was pounced on just outside of the box by the freshman who rifled his shot by the right side of Meintjes for what would be the eventual game-winning goal. Just inside of the 80
th minute, Rodrigues would add his first goal as an Eagle when graduate defender
Felix Nassen hit freshman midfielder
Fabian Ernst down the left side of the pitch.
Rodrigues would find open space and receive the pass from Ernst, going to the right side of Meintjes as well to help Post get some breathing room in what would be a 2-0 shutout win for the Eagles.
