WATERBURY, Conn. – 27 points to open up the game for Bentley University helped them jump out to a big lead early on and never look back as Post University Football dropped their seventh consecutive game at Municipal Stadium on Saturday afternoon to the Falcons, 61-28, while junior quarterback
Malakai Taylor threw three touchdown passes.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Wind would play a role in the game for both sides as each team would muff a punt leading to a change in possession, but in total there were a combined 10 fumbles, four blocked kicks/punts, and two interceptions. The first blocked punt came on the first drive of the day for Post as sophomore kicker
Aden Caine was blocked by junior linebacker Day Garcia and returned by sophomore defensive Santi Quiceno for the opening touchdown of the game.
But on the ensuing extra point, graduate kicker Mason Campbell was blocked by sophomore defensive back
Jalen Russell to keep the game at 6-0. Fumbles by Taylor on the next two Post possessions set up the Falcons for two more touchdowns from graduate running back Vinnie Holmes and graduate defensive lineman Zachary Goodwin. Before Taylor would hook up with junior wide receiver
Jermaine Tillery for the first score of the day for the Eagles, graduate running back Alex Berrouet punched one in from two yards out to put Bentley ahead 27-7 after the first.
From there, the Falcon offense would continue to hum alone with Holmes running for two more touchdowns in the second while senior running back
Isaiah Emmanuel had his lone touchdown run of the game to send the teams into the locker room with the Falcons ahead by 26 points, 40-14.
While Post would get a pair of touchdown drives going in the second half with Taylor hooking up with junior wide receiver

DJ Lisbon, the Bentley offense returned yet another blocked punt in the fourth after Goodwin and junior running back Joshua Compoh each ran one in as the Falcons dominated Post, 61-28, at Municipal Stadium.
In all, Bentley finished the game with seven rushing touchdowns while Holmes led the way with three touchdowns on 13 carries with 107 total yards. Graduate quarterback Brett Pullman threw for 142 yards on 13-of-19 passing with one interception and was sacked one time. As for Taylor, he finished the game 15-of-41 for Post with three touchdowns and one interception while being sacked three times in the loss.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Aden Caine's 57-yard punt in the game puts him second all-time behind himself at 68 yards for the longest punt in program history
- Malakai Taylor finished the game with 251 passing yards as well as three touchdown passes which placed him third and tied for second respectively in those categories for a single game in program history
- With 41 passing attempts today, Malakai Taylor ties for second all-time for passing attempts in a single game along with Broghean McGovern who had 41 against Franklin Pierce in 2022 while also setting the record that same year against Pace with 42 attempts
- Michael Gabettie finished the game with 15 tackles, placing him third all-time for most tackles in a single game – Gabettie also owns the top two spots as well as the fourth and fifth spots on the all-time list as well
WHO'S NEXT
The penultimate game of Post University's season will come next Saturday on the road at the University of New Haven with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 PM. The two teams last met during the inaugural season for the Eagles in which the Chargers came out on top, 67-20, at home.
