Football Sunk By Second-Half Onslaught at Franklin Pierce University

RINDGE, N.H. – For a good part of the first half, Post University Football hung tough against Franklin Pierce University taking the lead on two occasions before ultimately being overwhelmed by the Raven offense in the second half. Trailing just 21-14 heading into the locker room, 34 points in the second half for Franklin Pierce would help them pull away from the Eagles leading to a 55-20 defeat for Post who fell to 0-5 in conference play and saw their losing streak extended to six consecutive games.

THE BASICS

Post University 20, Franklin Pierce University 55

Post University (1-6, 0-5 NE10)

Franklin Pierce University (3-3, 3-1 NE10)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Sophomore outside linebacker got the Eagles on the board first with the first pick-six of the season as he picked off sophomore quarterback Adrian Parker near the goal line for the three-yard return and score less than five minutes into the game. However, Parker would bounce back quickly from that with a nine-play, 70-yard drive that ended in sophomore running back Reimello Hyde's eight-yard touchdown run to tie the game back up at seven.

In response, Post would march back down the field with junior quarterback Malakai Taylor under center leading a seven-play, 77-yard drive that ended in senior running back Isaiah Emmanuel's eight-yard touchdown run to give the Eagles to lead back once more time, 14-7. However, it would be the last time Post would be in front as the Raven started a stretch of 27 unanswered points to take full control of the affair.

Before halftime, Franklin Pierce milked the clock for seven minutes as they worked down the field to tie the game at 14 behind a three-yard rush by Reimello on a 16-play, 95-yard drive and then Parker hooked up with junior wide receiver Kameron Massey on a 40-yard touchdown pass just before the half to put them ahead 21-14 heading into the half.

The offense continued to click in the second half as two more rushing touchdowns in the third for junior running back Alex Benitez and sophomore running back Guerschom Guerrier around a 60-yard pick-six for freshman defensive back Damir Stone capped off the stretch that found the Ravens ahead by 27 points, 41-14, before the Eagles found the end zone again.

As he has done all season, it would be junior wide receiver Josh Tracey waltzing in with a 19-yard reception that brought Post to within 21 points, 41-20, before Franklin Pierce tacked on two more scores in the fourth. Rounding out the 55-20 win for the Ravens was Hyde with his third rushing touchdown on a day where he had 86 yards rushing while sophomore running back Montez Boswell punched in the last score of the game with 9:07 remaining in regulation.

BY THE NUMBERS
