WATERBURY, Conn. – It was not going to be easy for Post University Women's Soccer if they wanted to pick up a win on Homecoming Weekend against Jefferson University at LaMoy Field on Friday afternoon, but for at least the first half the Eagles hung tough. Trailing just 1-0 at the break, Post would be unable to find the equalizer and the defense would get worn down by the Rams' attack leading to a four-goal second half and a 5-0 win for the visitors who remain unbeaten in 2024.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rams' offense was knocking on the door of the goal mouth for much of the first half against sophomore goalkeeper
Aryn Nisbet who made her first start since September 21st against Wilmington today. Jefferson had the first seven shots of the match before sophomore midfielder Kyra Lesko connected on the net in the 21st minute to give the Rams a 1-0 lead.
Moments later in the 29th minute, Post would have a chance to answer as senior forward
Alyssa Hebb was one-on-one with senior goalkeeper Liv Riddel who was charging out of the goal in hopes of making a stop. Riddel would be able to halt Hebb's momentum and block away the opportunity which would be the only one of the first half for the Eagles who were outshot 17-1 overall in the first 45 minutes with Nisbet making seven saves.
Wasting no time in the second half, Jefferson would net three goals over the course of the first 15 minutes starting with junior forward Nikki Dedes scoring on a penalty kick. That would be the first of two goals in the second half that Dedes would net while Lesko also had her second in between there after a defensive zone turnover by the Eagles.
Senior forward Abby Cargile finished off the scoring for the Rams in the 71st minute, bringing the score to the eventual 5-0 final while Jefferson peppered both Nisbet and senior goalkeeper
Hannah Marriott with a total of 17 shots while taking 31 overall compared to just one shot and one shot on goal for Post in the loss.
