ERIE, Penn. -- Post University's Women's Ice Hockey had a quick turn around this afternoon, returning Mercyhurst Ice Center after dropping to their hosts 5-0 on Saturday, the Eagles sought revenge today but were ultimately edged out in game number two, 2-0. Â
Although the Eagles were defeated twice by the Lakers this weekend, today marks the lowest scoring game for the Lakers against the Eagles as Post held them to just a pair of goals.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
Mercyhurst got out to a hot start, as they found the back of the net just over two minutes into the first period (2:06) to take the early one-goal advantage. However, Eagles' goalie
Hannah Saunders protected the net with a whopping 20 saves to keep the Lakers to one goal heading into the second.Â
The Eagles continued to hold their hosts at bay, winning a trio of face offs before
Macy Peterson was able to get a shot off her stick, missing wide just seconds before the Lakers retaliated with their second goal of the afternoon to bring the score to 2-0 at the 11:59 mark.Â
In the third and final frame, the Eagles amped up their offensive drive from the second, taking a total of three shots. However, Mercyhurst was able to take 21 shots on net which were all denied by Saunders to record a total of 50 saves on the evening. Each squad was at a standstill in the third before the clock wound down to zero and the Lakers took the narrow 2-0 win.Â
