Four Teams Earn CACC Team GPA Award Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn, -- It is all academic for Post University Athletics as four teams came away with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Team GPA Awards as announced by the league offices on Monday morning, leading the conference for the institution with the most Team GPA Awards for the 2022-23 academic year.

Post University Softball, who led the way with a 3.82 GPA in the CACC, also landed national honors by winning the Easton/NFCA Division II Team GPA Award last week and took the conference honor by a significant margin over Caldwell University who finished with a 3.55 GPA.

Recording the highest GPA among Post Athletic teams who won team honors was Women's Tennis, taking the crown with a 3.91 GPA over CACC Champion Wilmington University who recorded a 3.82 GPA during the academic year.

With a 3.45 GPA, Men's Lacrosse was the CACC Team GPA Award winner with conference champion Chestnut Hill coming in behind them at a 3.27 GPA as the next closest competitor.

Women's Soccer turned in a stellar academic campaign as well, winning the conference's team GPA award with a 3.72 GPA which put them 0.13 points ahead of Jefferson University who notched a 3.59 GPA.

In order to be eligible for the CACC Team GPA Awards, teams had to meet NCAA sport sponsorship standards.

Of the 13 teams eligible for the honors, 12 programs at Post University finished with a GPA over 3.0, a mark that only Felician University, Jefferson University, Chestnut Hill, and Georgian Court had 12 or more programs reach the same mark.

The only CACC Champion last year that came out of Post, Men's Soccer was one of the 15 teams out of all 17 conference winners to earn a team GPA over 3.0, finishing with a 3.28 mark while Alliance University took the team award with a 3.54 GPA.

Post University Athletics returns to the field in just a few short weeks on August 31st when Women's Soccer takes on the University of New Haven in the Post University Classic at 1:00 PM while Men's Soccer hits the road the same day for a 4:30 matchup against AIC.
