WATERBURY, Conn. - Post University Women's Soccer fell against University of New Haven, 1-0, at LaMoy Field in their season opener and first game of the Post University Classic this weekend. The game was evenly matched, with the Chargers scoring with 10 seconds remaining in the first half on a free kick from freshman defender Janayah Body which found the foot of senior forward Macy Litalien for the lone goal of the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Scoring with 10 seconds left in the first half, the freshman, Body, rifled a shot toward freshman goalkeeper Aryn Nisbet in net on the free kick outside the 18-yard box, which caromed off the foot of Litalien who put it into the back of the goalmouth, giving the Chargers a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.
The Eagles came out strong in the second half, outshooting New Haven, 15-6, and controlling the ball in the offensive end for much of the final 45 minutes of play. However, they were unable to capitalize on their shot opportunities and beat sophomore goalkeeper Caitlyn Daley, thus falling in the match to New Haven, 1-0.
Two yellow cards were handed out during the game, one going to senior defender Amber McGee in the 42nd minute and one in the second half going to freshman forward Lola Wood.

The last time the Eagles went up against Pace was August 27th, 2022, when the Eagles fell short 4-2. The Setters won their first match of the season and first game of the Post University Classic over CACC opponent Caldwell University, 2-1, on Thursday afternoon.
