Brennan wasted little time getting the Eagles on the board, hitting a one-out solo home run to left field making it a 1-0 game. It is the second straight game Brennan hit a home run.
With the game tied 1-1 in the top of the third, Brennan once again went deep to left field for his third home run of the year, this time with two outs in the inning.
Caldwell, however, loaded the bases in the bottom of the fourth with one out and Liam Lombardi drove two runs in with a single, giving Caldwell a 3-2 lead. Waldy Arias followed with an RBI single of his own and a sacrifice fly gave them a 5-2 lead.
Post got one of those runs back in the sixth on an RBI single from
Chris Corchado and scored three in the top of the seventh to take a 6-5 lead.
Matthew Solomon and
Evan Cornwell hit back-to-back doubles made it a 5-4. After a groundout, Brennan hit an RBI single to score Cornwell.
DJ Caron followed with a single and
Danny Gill was hit by a pitch, setting the table for
Matt Goehrig whose fielder's choice drove in Brennan to give Post the 6-5 lead.
Nathaniel Byrd and
Jacob Tamburrino combined to retire the final nine batters to preserve the win. Byrd earned the win for the Eagles, pitching 4.1 innings, giving up just one hit and striking out five. Tamburrino pitched 1.1 innings, earning the save.
Brennan finished the game 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBI. Caron was 2-for-5 with a run. Corchardo was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Cornwell was 2-for-4 with a run and RBI.
Brennan is now 6-for-12 with five runs, three homers and eight RBI in his last three games.
