Baseball Wins Second Straight; Pavelchak Drives In Five

Lantana, FL. – The Post University baseball team won its second straight game, defeating Adelphi, 13-4 in a non-conference game on Thursday afternoon.

For the second straight game, the Eagles used a six-run inning to help propel them to victory.

Post (9-11) allowed a run in both the top of the first and third innings, but in the bottom of the third, the Eagles' offense woke up, as the first four batters reached base.

After a single by Evan Cornwell and a walk to Shane Lindemuth, the Eagles got on the board with an RBI single from DJ Caron. Hunter Keller followed with a single, and back-to-back groundouts from Jimmy Brennan and Danny Gill gave the Eagles a 3-2 lead. A single from Robert Olah made it a 4-2 game before Michal Pavelchak came through with the big hit of the inning, a two-run triple, giving the Eagles the 6-2 lead.

The offense didn't let up in the fourth inning as Gill hit an RBI single to score Keller, who reached on a fielder's choice. A walk to Olah loaded the bases for Pavelchak who singled to left to score two more. Pavelchak would later score on a wild pitch, giving Post a 10-2 lead.

Post tacked on two more runs including a sacrifice fly from Pavelchak. Cornwell added an RBI single in the eighth.

Joe Christiana earned his second win of the season, throwing six innings, giving up two earned runs on nine hits while striking out three. Noah
Connor pitched three innings of relief, striking out two.

Pavelchak finished the day 2-for-4 with five RBI. Gill was 3-for-5 with two RBI and three runs. Brennan scored two runs and drove in one. Olah was 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.

Post concludes its trip with an 11 a.m. first pitch against Southern Connecticut State University.
