Baseball Loses To Barry In Non-Conference Game

Miami Shores, FL. - The Post University baseball team lost a 23-7 game to Barry University on Monday in a non-conference road game.

The Eagles are now 7-11 on the season while Barry is now 16-6.

The Buccaneers scored seven in the first inning all with two outs behind two-run singles from Sean Shelley and Steven Nitch.

Post got two back in the top of the second on an RBI single from Chris Corchado and a sacrifice fly by Matthew Soloman

But the Buccaneers opened up the game, scoring five runs in the second and three in the third, including three-run homers by Nitch and Savi Delgado. Barry hit four home runs over the course of the two innings.

Matt Goehrig hit his second home run of the season and 19th of his career with a solo shot well over the left field wall.

Shane Lindemuth made it an 18-6 game, belting a three-run homer in the top of the sixth after Goehrig singled to open the inning, followed by a double by Soloman.

Evan Wilkinson added an RBI single in the top of the eighth.

Danny Gill and Robert Olah both finished the day 2-for-4 with a run. Goehrig was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

Delgado and Nitch both drove in six runs for Barry.

Up next, the Eagles will play Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday, March 15 at 11 a.m..
