Waterbury, CT - The Post University men's basketball team lost an 82-68 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game to Bloomfield on Wednesday evening.

Post is now 13-10 on the season and 8-6 in the CACC. Bloomfield improves to 12-10 overall and 8-5 in the conference.

The Eagles took a brief 6-3 lead to kick off the game behind a three from David Jasson and three points from Abdul-Basit Ajia. The Bears scored the next five, taking an 8-6 lead on a layup from Andres Fulgencio, but a three from D.J. Frechette put the Eagles back up, 9-8.

Bloomfield, however, would go on a 19-5 run to take a 27-14 lead before Cape Holden briefly stopped the run with a three. Post cut their deficit to seven after an offensive rebound and layup from Collins Onyeike made it a 30-23 game with 5:38 remaining. However, the Eagles would just make one more field goal the rest of the way, as the Bears closed with a 15-3 run to take a 45-26 lead at the break.

The Bears opened up the second half extending its lead to 61-37 after a jumper from Josh Morris. The Eagles were able to cut the deficit again to 64-49 led by Onyeike and Holden. However, the Eagles wouldn't get any closer until the final basket of the game as the Bears would lead by more than 20 for the majority of the second half.

Frechette finished with a team-high 21 points, hitting four threes and dishing out four assists. Ajia continued his dominance on the boards, grabbing 17 rebounds, just a game after grabbing 19 in a win over Jefferson. Holden finished with 11, going 3-for-6 from three.
