HOW IT HAPPENED
Much like their game against Goldey-Beacom at home, it was the Eagles who controlled most of the first half. The aggressive offensive attack saw Post University go offsides nine times in the opening 45 minutes but still manage to rattle off 10 shots, nine of which would reach senior goalkeeper Mia Phillip in net.
Phillip would be up to the challenge on all but one the Eagles' shots, as sophomore defender
Zoe Mier would net her first goal of the season and second of her career on the assist from senior forward
Hailey McGee in the 20
th minute, putting Post University ahead for the second consecutive match, 1-0.
The aggressive style of offense would continue into the second half, resulting in six more offsides calls for the Eagles in the second half and totaling 15 offsides for the match. But their would still be an abundance of offense from Post University as two more Eagles would find the back of the net, notching their first collegiate goals as the final 45 minutes of play wore on.
Senior midfielder
Sierra Tarantino would be the first to score as her shot off a pass from junior forward
Alyssa Hebb in the 66th minute would extend the Eagles lead to two goals. Freshman forward
Avia Burns would polish off the evening for Post with just over a minute remaining as she ran up the right sideline after getting a pass from freshman midfielder
Reese Kloetzer and chipping it over Phillips head just inside the left post.
Making her second career start in net, freshman goalkeeper and CACC Rookie of the Week
Alexis Campbell recorded her first collegiate shutout, making six saves on six total shot attempts by the Bears to help the Eagles earn a 3-0 shutout win.
