WATERBURY, Conn. -- Looking to ride the momentum of their earlier comeback against Holy Family University inside the Drubner Center, Post University Women's Volleyball was unable to overcome the hard-hitting firepower of Bentley University in the nightcap of their Dig Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Tri-Match on Saturday afternoon, falling in straight sets, 3-0.
THE BASICS
Post University 0, Bentley University 3
Post University (3-17)
Bentley University (14-3)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 3-2 in the opening set, the Falcons would go on a 6-0 run behind two service aces from junior libero Jazzy Burke along with kills from three different players and never look back. Opening up a lead of up to eight points, 12-4, following a 4-0 run, the closest the Eagles would be able to get was within three points, 14-11, following a bad set from graduate outside hitter Ingrid Murphy. An attack error later on by Murphy crept Post University a little closer, down just 19-15, but the Falcons would turn it back on to record six of the last 10 points and take a 25-18 first set win.
Another Bentley blitz in the second set would prove to be the difference maker yet again as a 6-6 tie quickly turned into a 14-7 lead for the Falcons following their 8-1 run in which four of the eight points scored came via Post errors on the ball. The lead would balloon to as many as 10 points, 22-12, as the set wore on and Bentley would maintain their stranglehold on the set en route to a 25-16 victory and a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.
From the jump, the Falcons would lead set three and never look back as the Eagles would only be able to get within one point on four different occasions and tie it up at 10 all following a 4-0 run featuring two kills from junior middle hitter
Hannah Brandt before an 8-0 Bentley run would be all they would need to put themselves in position for the sweep. Looking to extend her double-digit kill streak to 13 straight matches, junior outside hitter
Caley Harper would have a brief stretch in which she notched a couple of kills, but would finish with eight on the evening as the Eagles fell in set three, 25-17, dropping the match in straight sets.
BY THE NUMBERS
- After setting the record for most consecutive double-digit kill games at 12 earlier in the day, junior outside hitter Caley Harper's streak came to an end as she was only able to tally eight kills in the match

- As a team, Post University attacked at .069 for the match with only 29 kills on 116 total attacks
- Post University is now 1-5 all-time against Bentley University, dropping five consecutive matches to the Falcons, four of which have been 3-0 sweeps
