Women's Hockey Shutout By Mercyhurst

Shelton, CT - The Post University women's hockey team lost a 13-0 non-conference game to Mercyhurst on Thursday afternoon at the Rinks at Shelton.

The Eagles are now 2-17-0 on the season, while Mercyhurst moves to 10-11-0.

The Eagles had 15 shots on the day, including three from Jenna Abeyta, who led all Eagles.

In net, the combination of Grace Glasrud and Hannah Saunders combined for 59 saves.

Tristan Currie led all Eagles in faceoffs won with six. Jade Giesbrecht had four.

The Lakers got on the board with a shorthanded goal from Liliane Perreault at the 4:31.Grace Nelles scored the first of her two power play goals as Mercyhurst took a 2-0 lead after the first.

Mercyhurst went on to score five goals in the second, including the second for Nelles and Perreault. Four of the five goals in the period came on the power play. The Lakers added six more goals in the third as Perreault scored a hat trick. She also added two assists on the day. Vanessa Upson also scored twice for the Lakers.

The two teams meet again on Friday for an 11:30 a.m. puck drop at The Rinks At Shelton
