Shelton, CT - The Post University women's hockey team played to a 1-1 draw with Saint Michael's in a New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) game on Tuesday afternoon at the Rinks at Shelton.
Post is now 2-18-1 on the season and 2-10-1 in the NEWHA. Saint Michael's is now 1-15-2 overall and 1-10-2 in NEWHA.
After a scoreless first period which saw
Grace Glasrud stop 11 of her 28 shots on the day, Saint Michael's broke the tie with a goal from Elisabeth Gerebi to put the Purple Knights up, 1-0.
The Eagles would answer just over a minute before the second period ended as
Jade Giesbrecht took a rebound off a shot from
Sajel Desai to score her first goal of the season.
Victoria Proulx was also credited with an assist on the goal.
Post took 15 shots in the final period and overtime while Saint Michael's took nine, but no one was able to find the back of the net.
Post outshot Saint Michael's, 38-29.
Sheridan Terrazzano led the way with six shots.
Caisey Van Den Oetelaar and Giesbrecht each had five.
It was the Eagles' first tie since the 2017-18 season, when they finished with two ties on the season.
Carisa Mudrak had 37 saves for Saint Michael's.
The two teams meet again on Wednesday at 11:20 a.m. at The Rinks at Shelton.
