Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University women's soccer team set a program record with its seventh straight victory, defeating Felician University, 1-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game.
The win breaks the mark of the 2019 team, which won six straight.
It was Hailey McGee, the CACC's leading goal scorer who once again scored the game-winning goal in the 17th minute.
In the scoreless game, Imani Young fed Kaeleigh Serriani who made a touch pass to McGee. McGee split two defenders and found an opening past Felician goalkeeper Karlie Cabrera for her 11th goal of the season. It also her sixth game-winning goal of the season, and fourth straight game winner. McGee has also scored at least once in her last four games and six of her last seven.
It was McGee's 21st goal of her career, which moved her into fourth all-time in school history.
The Eagles defense did its job, smothering the Golden Falcons, allowing just two shots, none of which were on goal. It was the third shutout of the season for Post.
Post is now 7-4 on the season and 5-0 in the CACC, and currently sit in first place. Felician moves to 2-7-1 overall and 1-4 in the CACC.
Post had 17 shots, including seven on goal.
The Eagles have won its last five matches against Felician and eight of the last nine times the two teams have met.
