McGovern Rushes For Two TDs As Football Falls To Northern Michigan

Marquette, MI - Broghean McGovern rushed for two touchdowns, but the Post University football team lost a 42-14 game to Northern Michigan on Saturday afternoon.

Post is now 0-4 on the season. NMU moves to 2-2, overall.

After falling behind 14-0 three minutes into the second quarter, McGovern capped a 13 play 62 yard drive with a nine yard scamper. An extra point from Ian Scannell made it a 14-7 game. 

The teams would go into the half at the same score, but the Wildcats would score two more touchdowns in the third quarter and one more in the fourth to go up 35-7.

McGovern added his second TD of the day on a seven yard touchdown run at the 6:20 mark of the fourth.

McGovern finished with 31 yards on the ground and went 6-for-23 passing for 51 yards. Robert Oliverio had three catches for 39 yards for the Eagles to lead the team. Calem Bowman had ten tackles, a forced fumble and recovery for Post.

For the Wildcats, Zach Keene went 16-for-24 passing for three touchdowns. Kenyon Skinner had four catches for 105 yards and a touchdown, while Wyat Davis had four catches for 101 yards and two touchdowns.

Up next, the Eagles will play Pace University at noon on October 1 on the road in Pleasantville, N.Y.
