Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University men's soccer team extended its winning streak to four games in a 1-0 win over Bloomfield in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Tuesday afternoon at LaMoy Field.
The Eagles are now 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the CACC. The Eagles have not allowed a goal in CACC play this season.
Post dominated possession most of the game and had many opportunities to score, including a penalty kick opportunity in the first half before finally breaking through in the 75th minute on a goal from Alberto Solaeta – who had just entered the game - on a cross from Gentian Selimi to make it a 1-0 Post lead.
It was Solaeta's first goal of his career at Post.
All of Post's wins have come via shutout this season and have outscored opponents, 10-4 on the season.
The Eagles allowed just one shot on goal to Bloomfield (1-4-2, 1-2-1), which was stopped by goalkeeper, David Molenthiel, who earned his fifth shutout of the season.
The Eagles had six shots on goal, lead by Sergio Sanchez with two.
