Solaeta’s Goal Gives Men’s Soccer Fourth Straight Win

Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University men's soccer team extended its winning streak to four games in a 1-0 win over Bloomfield in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Tuesday afternoon at LaMoy Field.

The Eagles are now 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the CACC. The Eagles have not allowed a goal in CACC play this season.

Post dominated possession most of the game and had many opportunities to score, including a penalty kick opportunity in the first half before finally breaking through in the 75th minute on a goal from Alberto Solaeta – who had just entered the game - on a cross from Gentian Selimi to make it a 1-0 Post lead.

It was Solaeta's first goal of his career at Post.

All of Post's wins have come via shutout this season and have outscored opponents, 10-4 on the season.

The Eagles allowed just one shot on goal to Bloomfield (1-4-2, 1-2-1), which was stopped by goalkeeper, David Molenthiel, who earned his fifth shutout of the season.

The Eagles had six shots on goal, lead by Sergio Sanchez with two.

Up next, it's a battle of two CACC powerhouses as the Eagles travel to Wilmington to face the Wildcats on Saturday, September 24 at 3:30 p.m.
