Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University women's volleyball team made quick work of Alliance University in a 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-11) win on Saturday afternoon at the Drubner Center in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).
The win moves the Eagles to 4-8 overall and 2-2 in the CACC. Alliance is now 1-12 overall and 0-4 in the CACC.
Lydimar Soto had nine kills on the day, while
Madelynn Boop had eight.
Kaitlyn Lemmon had four blocks and
Maria Fernanda Branco led the Eagles in assists with 12 and digs with 11.
The Eagles jumped out to an 11-3 lead in set one, and used a 6-0 run late in the set to go up 20-11. Boop had five of her kills in the set.
Post led 7-2 early in set two as aces from Soto and
Aniya Goodman helped stake the Eagles to the early lead. Post was never threatened in the set, leading by no less than four points the rest of the set.
Colleen Romero had three kills in the set.
The Eagles scored the first four points of the final set, before the Warriors responded with the next three. However, the Eagles scored eight straight including four straight aces from
Izabella Rae to give Post the 12-3 lead enroute to sweeping the match. Soto had four kills in the set.
Up next, the Eagles host Bloomfield at 7 p.m. on September 21.
