Wilmington, De. – The Post University women's soccer team won its fourth straight game, defeating Goldey-Beacom, 3-2 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) on Saturday afternoon.
Post is now 4-4 on the season and 2-0 in the CACC. The Eagles' four game winning streak is its longest since 2019, when the Eagles won six straight.
After falling behind 1-0, Post's Imani Young took a shot deep on the right side of the 18 yard box and scored her first goal of the season in the 18th minute to tie the game.
In the 35th minute, Katharine Kuhne scored on a free kick for her first goal of the year, curling the ball into the top right corner, giving Post the 2-1 lead. Just two minutes later, Goldey-Beacom's free kick was stopped by goalkeeper Imelda Lazaro, taking the Eagles into the half with the one goal lead.
Post scored a much-needed insurance goal six minutes into the second half on a penalty kick goal from Hailey McGee for her sixth of the season which leads the CACC.
Goldey-Beacom added a goal in the 79th minute from Alyssa Ruggeri for the final tally of the game.
Lazaro matched a season-high with nine saves on the day.
Up next, the Eagles will take on Bloomfield on Wednesday, September 21 at 2 p.m. at LaMoy Field.
