Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University men's soccer team won its third straight game in a convincing 5-0 win over Goldey-Beacom on Saturday afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.
The Eagles are now 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the CACC.
Francisco Sousa was the hero of the day, scoring his first career hat trick, with all goals coming in the first half.
His first came just seven minutes in, taking s thru ball from
Davide Mazza and putting it past Lightning goalkeeper, Lucas Rinaldi in the top left of the net to put the Eagles up, 1-0.
In the 22
nd minute, Sousa scored again getting a rebound off a block shot from
Carles Aliberch and putting it home for the 2-0 lead.
Just five minutes later, Sousa took a cross and headed in his third goal of the game to make it a 3-0 game.
The scoring didn't stop there for the Eagles, as
Deni Iljazi – the hero in the first game of the season – scored his second goal of the season on a cross from
Stephen Sprowson in the 75
th minute.
Angel Morales would tack on the final goal – his first of the season – on an assist from
Pablo Tenorio in the 78
th minute.
David Mollenthiel had two saves on the day.
