Buffalo, N.Y. - A spectacular goal from
Amber McGee and another shutout from
Imelda Lazaro gave the Post University women's soccer team its third straight win in a 1-0 victory over D'Youville on Tuesday evening in a non-conference game.
The Eagles are now 3-4 on the season, while the Saints fall to 2-4.
With the game scoreless in the 42nd minute,
Imani Young took a shot from 30 yards out after a corner kick leaked out towards her. D'Youville's Reaghan Duval saved the shot, and on the rebound
Amber McGee put a bicycle kick into the back of the net to give Post a 1-0 lead. It was her first goal of the season and seventh of her career.
The Eagles put plenty of pressure on the Saints' backline, with 15 shots on the day, 11 on goal. Amber and
Hailey McGee led the Eagles with three shots apiece.
In net, Lazaro - the reigning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Goalkeeper of the Week - had five saves in her second straight shutout.
It was the first meeting between the two teams.
Up next, the Eagles get back into CACC play, taking on Goldey-Beacom at 1 p.m. on September 17.
