Women's Soccer Wins Second Straight Defeating Holy Family In CACC Opener

Waterbury, Conn. - The Post University women's soccer team won its second straight game, defeating Holy Family, 1-0 to kick off Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play in its home opener at LaMoy Field.

Hailey McGee, once again was the hero of the day, scoring her third goal in two games for the lone tally of the day.

After a scoreless first half, McGee took a pass from Katharina Kuhne, racing by two defenders and chipping the ball over the head of Holy Family goalkeeper, Brianna Pudlo, to put the Eagles up, 1-0.

It was all the Eagles would need as Imelda Lazaro stopped six shots in net for the Eagles for her fourth shutout of her career.

McGee now has five goals on the season, tied for the lead in the CACC. She now has 15 goals in her career

The Eagles dominated possession for the better part of the game, with 13 shots, eight of them on goal. McGee led the way with six shots total. Kaeleigh Serianni had three shots, two of which were on goal.

Up next, the Eagles go back to non-conference play for a game at D'Youville on September 13 at 5 p.m. It will be the first meeting between the schools.
